2015 is the Stagehands' 30th year!! And we're celebrating in a BIG way with a VERY full theatrical year being planned. Here's how the summer season is shaping up...

JUNE - "Over the Tavern" - Directed by Frank Kronyak

JULY - "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" - Directed by Ann Turner

written by Tom Dudzick

directed by Frank Kronyak

JUNE 4-7 and JUNE 11-14, 2015

In that most idealized period of 20th-century America, the Eisenhower years of the 1950s, the Pazinski family has a lot going on in their cramped Buffalo apartment. The youngest of the bunch, 12-year-old Rudy, is a smart, wise-cracking kid who's starting to question family values and the Roman Catholic Church. When Rudy goes up against the ruler-wielding Sister Clarissa and announces that instead of being confirmed he'd rather shop around for a more "fun" religion, all hell breaks loose. A warm and hilarious look at family and growing up.

Here's the cast for this show:

Rudy - Elijah DuMond

Sister Clarissa - Mary Anderson

Ellen (Mother) - Lori Peterson

Georgie - Braeden DuMond

Eddie - Derek Huebel

Annie - Sydney Dumond

Chet (Father) - Rob Peterson

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

directed by Ann Turner

An eclectic group of six "kids" (played by adults) vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home life, the tweens spell their way through a series of words hoping to never hear the "ding" of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one spelling champion leaves! A riotous ride complete with audience participation.

Welcome to Spring Valley Theater!

Imagine. Create. Perform. Have fun with the Stagehands!! Spring Valley Community Theatre has been a vibrant theatrical force in the area for 29 years.

At an initial organizational meeting in December, 1984, the Spring Valley Stagehands were created and have thrived in a renovated movie house on the Main Street of town. Pooling the amazing talents from this community and all the surrounding area, the theatre group has produced hundreds of shows and concerts. Ranging from broad comedy to Broadway, with dashes of drama and pageantry, the Stagehands continue to present knockout productions year after year.

The group is open to any and all community members interested in giving theatre a try. Whether your interest is on-stage or off, there's room for you at the Spring Valley Theatre. Acting, singing, dancing, directing, stage design, construction, graphic arts, public relations, photography, makeup and hair, costuming - there's a spot for everyone.

With monthly member meetings (generally on the first Sunday of each month. 7 pm at the theatre), there's no reason why you can't stop in and find out what's going on now.
